Dear Chapter Leaders, As you probably know, early bird registration for the 2015 Annual Conference to be held July 8-12, 2015, in Minneapolis, MN opened up on November 26, 2014. The 2015 conference promises to be an outstanding event! We have confirmed our featured keynote presenter, Dr. Temple Grandin for the Thursday plenary session, and have 2 other exceptional plenary sessions planned as well. To ensure that as many AATA members as possible get the lowest conference registration rates, please help us spread the word about early registration. To assist you in this manner, we have attached a banner ad that can be used to post information on your websites, Facebook pages, or included in your chapter Newsletters. If you need additional formats, please don’t hesitate to let me know. We appreciate your help!

Conference Registration:
Norwegian has informed us that due to the nature of our contract, anyone who books outside of the group FATA will not be able to attend the conference or present at the conference. Please follow the guidelines and book your room with Ronny Furer at 954-514-4583 and say that you are: 1.) traveling on February 7th 2014, 2.) on the Norwegian Sky going to the Bahamas, and 3.) under the group package: FLORIDA ART THERAPY ASSOCIATION. Otherwise you will not be able to attend/ present. Unfortunately, this is non-negotiable.
Make your reservation before October 1st and save $100! FATA will waive the $100 conference fee if you book your room before October 1st, 2013. What are the dates? February 7th (5pm departure)-10th (8am arrival); Guests are advised to arrive 2 hours prior to departure or at 3pm.
Where will the cruise will go? Nassau/ Bahamas
How the payment will be set up for the conference? FATA has reserved cabins under the name: FLORIDA ART THERAPY ASSOCIATION; (ID: 2330905); Section I.F. You must book your room with the FATA group in order to attend the conference.
Will conference registration and the cost of the cruise be paid to FATA? No. Much like at the AATA conference, attendees are responsible for making a reservation at the hotel. This conference only carries the cost of the "room/board” if you reserve your room before October 1st, 2013. After October 1st, you will be charged a $100 conference fee, payable to FATA through PayPal (see PayPal link above to pay this fee).
To make your reservation, simply call Norwegian (954-514-4583- Ronny Furer) and say that you are 1.) traveling on February 7th 2014, 2.) on the Norwegian Sky going to the Bahamas, 3.) under the group package: FLORIDA ART THERAPY ASSOCIATION. You must book your room with the FATA group in order to attend and/or present at the conference.
What is the cost? Cost is approximately $287.98 per person for the 3 day cruise to the Bahamas, which includes food/ beverages. The following explains the cost: Fare per guest: $109; NCF fee: $90; Taxes: 88.98. You will also be charged a $100 conference fee by FATA if you make your reservation after October 1st, 2013.
Please remember that all food costs are covered with the booking of the room/board. You should have no food or beverage costs with the exception of room service and/or alcohol.
Norwegian has Freestyle Dining which means that there is complimentary food available at all hours without the need for a reservation. I'd like to bring my partner/spouse/friend along, will there be a rate for including these guests? Yes. Cabins are a two person accommodation. Each guest is responsible for the $287.98 fare. There are two twin beds provided. Rooms with a double bed may be reserved but at an additional fee. A third person may also share the room. A three person room will have a lower cost, but 3 person reservations must be booked under a different category (see below)
Can I opt to room alone? Singles within the group must pay 200% of the adult group fare or approximately $486.98 for the 3 day cruise. The most economical option is to share a room. (2 person total: $575.96; 3 person total: $833.94). To book for 3 people, the individuals would need to book outside of the group reservation under category: I.D. The reservation for our group is currently under I.F. This shouldn't be a problem if the reservation is done in 60 days prior to sailing.
Can I chose who I room will with? Yes. Simply call Norwegian to make the reservation and indicate who will be rooming with you and whether there will be 1 or 2 additional persons. They will tell you the total cost and you will likely put the cost on one credit card and divide the fee among those sharing the room.
What if I need to cancel my reservation? Your deposit is fully refundable until December 9th, 2013. Please call Ronny Furer at 954-514-4583 if you have any questions or need to cancel your reservation.
